The most striking images I have from the original Alien movie are of the relatively few people in their huge cargo ship. The "lostness" of the characters in the human designed environment was more subtly disturbing than their exploration of the more alien ship. We lose ourselves in our constructs and forget that it is each other that we need to thrive.

The Nostromo was probably a lot bigger than we ever saw on screen (I can imagine a bunch of rooms we never saw) and also had a claustrophobic feel as well in most areas. Not to mention we never got to see the interior of the refinery it towed, if it had one. The fact that it was crewed by only seven people would make it feel that much more massive feeling to them.

Awesome picture by the way. I love how the massive this room is compared to the two people in it.

Thank you sir. And you are right of course about the claustrophobia. My scene, in my mind, is set on cargo vessel at port. This empty space would normally be crammed full of goods in transit.

How fearful a thing to love what death can touch. Ars longa, vita brevis.
