The most striking images I have from the original Alien movie are of the relatively few people in their huge cargo ship. The "lostness" of the characters in the human designed environment was more subtly disturbing than their exploration of the more alien ship. We lose ourselves in our constructs and forget that it is each other that we need to thrive.

The Nostromo was probably a lot bigger than we ever saw on screen (I can imagine a bunch of rooms we never saw) and also had a claustrophobic feel as well in most areas. Not to mention we never got to see the interior of the refinery it towed, if it had one. The fact that it was crewed by only seven people would make it feel that much more massive feeling to them.
Awesome picture by the way. I love how the massive this room is compared to the two people in it. -- Memories and possibilities are ever more hideous than realities. -"Herbert West : Re-Animator" in "Home Brew" Vol. 1, No. 1 (February 1922) ~High Elder Nosferatu at =VampyreArmy ~Immortal of *Covenant-Of-The-Wolf |
